Help deliver the 2026 Victorian State Election

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is actively recruiting a range of paid election support roles across the Swan Hill region.

These roles are critical to the successful delivery of the 2026 Victorian State Election and offer the opportunity to support voters, assist election operations and contribute to an significant democratic event.

Whether you are looking to earn additional income, gain valuable work experience, meet new people or make a meaningful contribution to your community, election work provides a unique opportunity to be involved in one of Victoria's largest civic events. Training and support will be provided.

About the roles

We are currently recruiting for a range of essential election support positions across the region. Depending on the role that best matches your skills, experience and availability, you may be:

- supporting voters and providing customer service

- handling election materials and equipment

- counting votes and processing election information

- helping election offices with administrative tasks

Some roles involve several weeks of work before or after election day, while others are focused on election day activities only.



This provides opportunities for people with a range of availability, including those who work full-time.

About you

You do not need previous election experience. We will train you in election processes and systems.

We are looking for people who can:

- communicate clearly and work respectfully with different people

- provide good customer service

- work accurately and follow procedures

- handle information appropriately and pay attention to detail

- work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment

Depending on the role, you may work with members of the public, complete administrative tasks, support election operations, assist with vote counting activities, use computer systems or undertake work requiring sustained concentration and attention to detail. Flexibility, reliability and a commitment to delivering successful election activities are essential.
