The Opportunity

The Sandy Ridge Facility is a remote residential site, with FIFO from Jandakot, Perth, or DIDO from regional towns. Operations are day shift only, with a flexible roster currently 7:7 roster pattern. The project has a design life of at least 25 years and operates with approximately 40 Tellus employees and additional contractors per swing.

The Chemical Engineering Process Supervisor presents an opportunity to lead a team of Treatment Technicians in the safe and effective delivery of chemical waste treatment processes. Working under the guidance of the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating daily activities, ensuring production schedules and statutory requirements are met, and supporting the ongoing operation and development of the chemical processing plant.

The role provides exposure to a broad range of operational and technical activities, including plant operations, maintenance, calibration, technical upgrades and waste treatment initiatives. You will work closely with on-site and off-site teams across multiple disciplines, balancing hands-on field activities with planning, technical input and process improvement.





Key Responsibilities

- Effective daily leadership of a team of waste technicians.

- Take the lead and assist in the operation of chemical processing plant infrastructure including but not limited

- Participate in the continuous improvement in all facets of the chemical processing operation.

- Actively comply with Tellus’ health, safety and environmental policies, management plans, procedures, and practices.

- Ensure the disposal of hazardous materials is conducted in accordance with the site production plan, whilst adhering to all licence conditions

- Ensure that practices and procedures undertaken and those developed adhere to the highest safety standards, including maintaining personal hygiene, a high standard of housekeeping, continuously monitoring the on-the-job performance, chemical handling and waste verification requirements and chemical operation systems and processes

- Undertake operational waste management requirements, including leading the timely treatment and disposal of waste within stipulated licence conditions.

Reporting to our Technical Superintendent,



the role will be based on our operational facility - Sandy Ridge (nr. Coolgardie)

Role Requirements

- Successful completion of a tertiary qualification in Chemical or process engineering or similar or significant years in industry in a similar field.

- You must also hold a current WA C Class Driver’s License (automatic only OK), as on-site driving is a necessary part of the role.

- Good computer skills, including using spreadsheets and writing reports, will help you in this role, as you will be required to conduct various analysis and sampling exercises and prepare their required reports.

- Completion of LGIRS Schedule 26 Supervisor course level IV.

- Knowledge of environmental legislation such as the controlled waste regulations, DWER site license and DWER landfill regulations

- Knowledge of dangerous goods legislation, and environmental & quality management standards like ISO14001/9001/45001
