About the Role

As part of our Strategic Planning and Sustainability team, you’ll provide support across the City’s strategic planning, heritage and environmental sustainability functions while developing practical professional capability by:

- Assisting with research, preparation, review and implementation of the City’s sustainability framework, initiatives and projects.
- Collecting, maintaining and analysing sustainability data to support monitoring, performance reporting and continuous improvement.
- Supporting the preparation of sustainability updates, dashboards,



grant information and applications, educational resources, briefing material and reports.
- Assisting with and leading the routine reviews of local planning policies and other strategic planning initiatives under guidance.
- Undertaking research, data collection, analysis and benchmarking to support evidence-based policy development aligned with best-practice.
- Providing project and administrative support for planning scheme, heritage, and local planning policy reviews and strategic planning processes as required.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively to complete tasks or projects and achieve agreed outcomes.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence, reports, briefing material and presentations in plain English.
- Foundational understanding of strategic planning, sustainability, project management and policy development principles.
- Currently completing the final year of, or recently completed, a tertiary qualification in urban and regional planning, environmental science, environmental management, sustainability, sustainable development or a related discipline.
