About the role

Join Noongar Mia Mia's dedicated team as an Aboriginal Housing First Support Worker in this 50d position. In this full time role based in Perth, WA, you will play a crucial part in providing comprehensive support services to help Aboriginal people access and maintain stable housing. Leveraging your expertise in community services and housing, you will make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

What you'll be doing

- Proactively engage with individuals to assess their housing and support needs

- Develop and implement personalized support plans to help clients access and sustain appropriate housing

- Coordinate a range of wrap-around services, including mental health, addiction, and financial support

- Advocate on behalf of clients to secure housing and other essential services

- Provide ongoing case management and practical assistance to help clients maintain their tenancies

- Collaborate with government agencies, community organizations and other stakeholders to deliver integrated support

- Monitor client progress and outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement of the program

What we're looking for

- Demonstrated experience in community services or housing support, preferably with Aboriginal clients

- Solid understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,



with the ability to build trust and rapport

- Strong advocacy and negotiation skills to navigate complex systems and secure support for clients

- Commitment to a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to service delivery

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, community development or a related field. Lived experience will be considered.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently as required

- Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with a deep understanding of Aboriginal history and experiences
