About the role

This ROLE is 100% REMOTE

As Technical Business Analyst (Data and Analytics), you will combine business analysis with hands-on data and reporting expertise. You will work with program, curriculum, delivery, technology and executive stakeholders to define requirements, map processes and data flows, and translate business needs into practical technical solutions. You will design reliable data models, pipelines and dashboards that enable informed action, while maintaining strong testing, documentation, privacy and data governance practices.

Key responsibilities

- Elicit, analyse and confirm business, functional, data and reporting requirements with program, curriculum, delivery and executive stakeholders.

- Facilitate requirement playback and resolve ambiguity until stakeholders agree on scope, priorities and acceptance criteria.

- Translate requirements into user stories, functional specifications, process maps and target-state designs.

- Analyse entity relationship diagrams, database schemas and system integrations to determine how information fits together.

- Connect to, query and join data across web platforms, learning content delivery, CRM and operational systems.

- Design and maintain data models, semantic layers, source-to-target mappings and data lineage.

- Build and maintain ETL pipelines using appropriate tools, including Power Automate, Azure Data Factory, SQL, Python or R.

- Perform data profiling, validation and reconciliation and investigate anomalies or inconsistent results.

- Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting products that support operational and strategic decisions.

- Prepare test strategies, test plans, test cases and traceable acceptance criteria.





About you

- Demonstrated experience as a technical business analyst, data analyst or in a combined business analysis and data role.

- Strong Power BI capability, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query M and dashboard design.

- Strong SQL capability and confidence analysing unfamiliar databases, entity relationship diagrams and schemas.

- Demonstrated requirements elicitation, documentation, process mapping, test planning and user acceptance testing experience.

- Demonstrated data profiling, validation and reconciliation capability.

- Transparent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

- Ability to work autonomously in a lean team and drive outcomes without close supervision.

- Full Australian or New Zealand working rights.

- Willingness to obtain and maintain required screening, including a Blue Card and Police Check, where applicable.
