What you'll do

As our Social Channels Specialist, you will be responsible for executing content across Zoos Victoria's social media channels. Reporting to the Marketing Channels Manager, you will collaborate with content producers, external agencies and internal stakeholders to schedule, publish and optimise content that supports our conservation, sustainability and commercial goals. You will lead community engagement on our social pages, maintain the content calendar, and monitor and report on the performance of our social channels.

What you'll bring

- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing and/or Communications, or equivalent professional experience.

- Extensive knowledge of major social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.

- Practical knowledge of social media management platforms like Brandwatch or Sprout Social

- Experience creating and publishing engaging and culturally-relevant social media content that builds brand sentiment and drives action

- Experience editing video and photo content through Premiere Pro, Canva or similar

- Experience measuring and reporting on the performance of social media content and channels.

- Experience managing the community of a large social media page.





- Proven ability to stay ahead of fast-evolving social media trends, algorithm shifts, and platform-specific language.

- Superb writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail.

- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

- Experience in not-for-profit, tourism or purpose-driven organisations highly regarded.

Other requirements

- This role requires the ability to travel to all four Zoos Victoria properties.

- Some out-of-hours work (for example, capturing content at Zoos Victoria events) will be required, with inclusion in the on-call social media roster for monitoring after hours, weekends and public holidays.

- A National Police Check and Working with Children Check are required.
