Job Description
Senior Manager, Embedded Partnerships | Fintech Payments & Rewards | $*******K Base + Super | $300K OTE | Melbourne or Sydney
n
Payments is commodity. A rewards currency you can redeem straight back against your own invoices isn't. This is the seat that puts both inside everyone else's product.
n
An Australian business payments platform has built the full stack: payment rails, a rewards engine, and a redemption network. Businesses pay suppliers, payroll, rent and tax through it, and earn points on every dollar that moves. The next chapter isn't acquiring customers one at a time - it's embedding that infrastructure directly into the platforms businesses already use. Banks, lenders, accounting software, ERPs, procurement platforms, marketplaces, vertical SaaS.
n
Why This Role?
n
n
$*******K base + super, $300K OTE
n
Head of level considered for the right candidate - this is a senior seat with room to grow into it
n
Reports directly to the EGM Revenue, with a direct line to the leadership team
n
Genuinely differentiated product - nobody else pairs business payments with a rewards currency redeemable against invoices
n
Warm pipeline from day one - you're not sourcing from zero
n
You define how this function runs, not maintain someone else's version of it
n
n
What You'll Actually Do
n
n
Own the embedded partner pipeline end to end: source, qualify, negotiate, close
n
Run discovery with partner product and engineering teams, and scope the integration path - API, white label, referral, co-brand
n
Build and defend the commercial model on every deal: rate cards, revenue share, points economics, break-even, payback
n
Drive term sheets, MOUs and commercial schedules through legal, risk and compliance on both sides
n
Feed partner demand back into product and engineering - help decide what gets built next
n
Take signed partners live: launch plan, enablement, go-to-market, then hand over cleanly
n
Represent the business with executive sponsors and treasury teams at banks, lenders and platform businesses
n
n
Who This Suits
n
You don't need to have worked at a specific type of company. What matters is you've actually closed embedded or API-led deals in payments, fintech, banking or platform SaaS - and you understand the flow of money well enough to defend a commercial model in front of a CFO.
n
n
You know where the economics and risk sit across card schemes, acquiring, interchange, BPSP models, settlement, PayTo, PayID and the NPP
n
You can read API documentation and whiteboard an integration without a sales engineer translating for you
n
You run a structured sales process - MEDDPICC or similar - and you actually use it
n
You're comfortable building something from nothing, not maintaining what's already there
n
Loyalty, rewards or points economics experience helps. Time inside a bank, scheme or acquirer partnership team helps too. Neither is required.
n
n
Why This Chance Is Different
n
Most partnerships roles at this level are glorified account management - inherit a book, keep the lights on. This one isn't built yet. You're defining the motion, the commercial model and the playbook from a standing start, with warm conversations already in flight so you're not cold-calling your way into relevance.
n
If you've got payments infrastructure in your background and you want the senior seat that builds a function rather than runs someone else's, this is it.
n
The successful candidate will also receive 12 months of ongoing training and support, including advanced training programs and access to communities for professional growth - All of which is provided by Pointer in addition to internal programs.
