Coordinator Asset Management and Capital Planning, Maribyrnong City Council
n
As Coordinator Asset Management and Capital Planning, you will lead the development of Council's annual and 10-year capital expenditure program, working closely with asset owners and service managers to drive evidence-based investment decisions. You will also lead the continuous improvement of Council's strategic asset management systems, data and practices — and build the capability of a team of asset management and capital planning professionals along the way.

Reporting to the Manager Assets and Capital, you will lead a small team (Asset Engineer and Asset Management & GIS Officer) and work across the organisation, with external contact spanning contractors, consultants, government departments and the community.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, scoping and prioritisation of Council's annual and 10-year capital works program
n
Oversee the currency and accuracy of Council's asset register, asset management systems and GIS integration
n
Develop and review Council's Asset Management Plan, Road Management Plan and related strategic documents
n




Manage operational and capital budgets, including monthly cash flow forecasting
n
Report to Council's Asset Management and Capital Works Steering Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and Council
n
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team
n
Champion sound risk management, including Council's approach to climate-related asset risk
n

About You
n
n
Degree qualified in engineering, with asset management qualifications
n
Substantial experience in asset management with demonstrated leadership ability
n
Proven track record developing capital works programs and communicating asset management concepts to senior stakeholders
n
Demonstrated experience in asset valuation, capitalisation and life-cycle costing
n
Solid change leadership and team management capability
n
Well-developed report writing skills, with the ability to present complex material to varied audiences
n
Experience using asset management and asset modelling systems (capital renewal modelling, condition prediction)
n
Current Victorian driver's licence
