Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000 per annum plus super

Responsibilities
n
In respect to Programming
n
n
To be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the daily program for the individual children or groups.
n
To be responsible for planning and preparing the environment, setting up interest based experiences, preparing and clearing away materials and supplies.
n
Identify children's interest and use these to inform the program.
n
To critically reflect on the program and use these reflections to drive improvement.
n
Document the learning of individual children for program planning purposes and to monitor their progress against learning outcomes while reflecting the Early Years Learning Framework.
n
Have an actively anti bias approach which is reflected in interactions with children, families and staff.
n
Keep up to date with current development in the Early Childhood sector.
n
Develop, implement and evaluate daily care routines.
n
n
In respect to the Staff
n
n
Respect and support colleagues, developing positive channels of communication to ensure a smooth running service.
n
Contribute toward a healthy team environment.
n
Collaborate with staff to ensure that the program in continually improving.
n
Share knowledge gained through formal training with colleagues.

Act as a mentor to new/less qualified members of staff.

n
n
Work according to the Education and Care Services National Regulations **** and the Children (Education and Care Services National Law Application) Act ****.

To develop a co-operative relationship with all members of staff,
to ensure a smoothly operating service and a consistently caring, secure and active environment for all the children at all times.

To share cleaning responsibilities in ensure the service environment and equipment is safe and hygienic.

Contribute and commit to service's QIP, the service's vision/mission statement and its philosophy.
n
Be aware of government regulations, guidelines pertaining to children's services and be competent and prepared to assist the Nominated Supervisor.

Comply with and assist in reviewing policies and procedures of the service.

Attend and contribute to staff meetings *

Maintain the ability to use information technology.

Any other duties, within the scope of the position, as specified by the Nominated Supervisor.

n
Create a safe, supportive and informative workplace for families.

Act as a resource person for families.

In respect to Child Protection
n
n
To assist the head of agency to comply with child protection in the workplace– responding to allegations of reportable conduct against employees.
n
Inform the head of agency of all allegations or convictions of a child protection nature against an employee, of which you become aware.
n
Ensure compliance as a mandatory reporter, which requires reporting to The Child Protection Helpline, where there is significant risk of harm to a child or young person.
n

Required Skills
n
n
Appropriate Bachelor Degree or higher.
n
First Aid Certificate and Child Protection.
n
