About the role
n
They are looking for a confident and reliable Assistant Manager to support their Mt Ommaney team. This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys being on the floor, supporting the team and taking responsibility for the store when required.
n
You'll work 33.5 hours per week across a Sunday to Thursday roster, with essential higher duties responsibilities on Monday, Sunday and Thursday night.
n
Working alongside the Store Manager, you'll help keep the store running smoothly while providing practical leadership throughout your shifts.
n
You will:

Support and motivate the team throughout daily trade
n
Set clear priorities around customer service and operational tasks
n
Role-model warm, confident and helpful customer service
n
Maintain strong standards across merchandising, housekeeping and stock
n
Complete opening, closing,



cash handling and security procedures when acting as person in charge
n
Provide calm and constructive coaching to team members
n
Identify issues early and escalation where appropriate
n
Ensure effective handovers between shifts and leadership
n
Take responsibility for approved higher duties shifts
n

What you'll bring

Previous retail experience with solid customer service capability
n
Current leadership experience or the confidence to step into your first formal leadership role
n
A positive, approachable and reliable style
n
Strong communication and handover skills
n
Confidence making decisions and knowing when to escape
n
The ability to stay organised and calm during busy trade
n
Strong attention to store standards, stock and merchandising
n
A genuine willingness to learn and continue developing as a leader
n
