SALARY – $120,000 - $140,000 per annum, dependent on experience

LOCATION – Wollongong, NSW

My client is an established engineering business delivering a range of specialist projects. They are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong structural engineering experience to join their team near Wollongong on a permanent basis.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: n
n
At least 3 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Engineering position
n
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
n
Experience working in a heavy industry – O&G;, Mining, Minerals Processing, Power Generation, Bulk Materials Handling or similar
n
Previous experience with structural design and analysis
n
Experience designing steel structures, frames, platforms and supporting structures
n
Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, ideally AS **** and AS/NZS ****
n
Experience producing engineering drawings and technical documentation
n
Strong understanding of mechanical components,



fabrication and manufacturing processesHighly skilled with relevant CAD and engineering design software
n
Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail
n
Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
n
Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
n
The Senior Mechanical Engineer role will involve: n
n
Designing and developing mechanical components, equipment and systems
n
Performing mechanical and structural calculations and design verification
n
Producing and reviewing engineering drawings and documentation
n
Working closely with structural engineers, manufacturing and other departments
n
Supporting projects from concept through to production
n
Liaising with manufacturing providers and external stakeholders
n
Conducting design reviews and providing technical solutions
n
Checking designs and drawings for sign off
n
Creating required documentation for design and project reports
n
Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
n
