Director Finance and Governance (Part-Time)

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director Finance & Governance will provide strategic leadership across finance, governance, risk and commercial operations.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n

Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and organisational performance reporting.
n
Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis and strategic insights to support decision‐making.
n
Develop board‐level reporting, governance papers and executive recommendations.
n
Coordinate governance activities, board administration and annual compliance requirements.
n
Maintain and enhance enterprise risk management frameworks, insurance programs and business continuity planning.
n
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual and ACNC obligations.
n
Strengthen commercial governance, contract management processes and organisational controls.
n
Oversee outsourced finance, payroll and bookkeeping providers whilst assessing the future operating model.
n
Partner closely with senior stakeholders to support growth, commercial decision‐making and governance maturity.
n
n
This is a highly visible leadership position offering broad organisational influence across finance, governance, risk and strategic operations.
n
Partner directly with the CEO and Board on strategy and growth; Broad finance, governance and risk leadership remit

To be successful in this position,



you will be an experienced finance executive with strong governance and commercial capabilities, ideally gained within a consulting, professional services, specialised SME or purpose‐led environment.
n
You will bring:
n
n
CA or CPA qualification.
n
Demonstrated senior finance leadership experience.
n
Strong corporate governance and board reporting expertise.
n
Experience across risk management, compliance and organisational assurance.
n
Commercial acumen with the ability to operate strategically and hands‐on.
n
Exceptional written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
Experience supporting CEOs, Boards and senior leadership teams.
n
Exposure to outsourced finance models and contemporary financial systems.
n
n
Candidates with experience in social enterprise, ESG‐focused organisations, consulting or skilled services environments will be highly regarded.
n
