Human Resource Adviser Location: Sydney, NSW Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $ + superannuation Occupation: Human Resource Adviser About the Business We are an established Australian business operating within the architectural building products and construction industry, specialising in the design, supply and distribution of aluminium façade, window, door, commercial framing and related building systems.
The business works with builders, developers, architects, designers, fabricators, suppliers and other industry stakeholders across residential and commercial construction projects.
The organisation operates in a technical and project-driven setting where effective workforce management, employee support and compliance with workplace requirements are important to ongoing business operations.
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Adviser to support the organisation's human resource functions and provide practical HR support to management and employees.
The position will be responsible for providing advice and assistance across recruitment, employee relations, workforce administration, performance management, employment conditions, HR policies and personnel systems.
The successful applicant will work closely with management to ensure that HR processes support the organisation's operational requirements and workforce needs.
Key Responsibilities Provide advice and information to management and employees regarding human resource policies, procedures and employment conditions.
Coordinate recruitment activities, including preparing job advertisements, reviewing applications, arranging interviews and supporting the selection and appointment of employees.
Receive and assess workforce requirements from managers and assist with developing appropriate recruitment and staffing processes.
Maintain accurate personnel records and HR information systems, ensuring employee information is appropriately recorded and maintained.
Coordinate employee onboarding, induction and commencement processes and provide information regarding employment conditions, workplace policies and procedures.
Assist management with performance management, employee conduct and workplace issues in accordance with established policies and applicable employment requirements.
Assist with the development, review and implementation of HR policies, procedures and workforce practices.
Monitor and interpret relevant employment legislation, awards, employment contracts and workplace requirements and provide information to management regarding their application.
Assist with employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, grievances and disputes, and support appropriate resolution processes.
Maintain and update employment documentation, position descriptions, HR records and workforce information.
Assist management with workforce planning, staffing requirements and organisational HR initiatives.
Provide advice regarding recruitment requirements, remuneration, employment conditions and promotional or development opportunities.
Support the implementation of workplace policies, procedures and employee engagement initiatives.
Prepare HR reports,
workforce information and documentation for management as required.
Liaise with managers and employees across the business to support consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Employment Relations or a related discipline; and/or relevant professional experience.
Demonstrated 1 year of experience in a Human Resource Adviser or comparable HR professional role.
Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, performance management and HR administration.
Experience maintaining personnel records and HR information systems.
Ability to interpret and apply employment legislation, awards, employment contracts and workplace policies.
Robust written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple HR matters.
Ability to communicate professionally with management and employees at different levels of the organisation.
High level of confidentiality, discretion and attention to detail.
Experience working within a construction, manufacturing, architectural products, engineering or other technical/project-based environment will be highly regarded.
