We are seeking a Senior Advisor Public Policy to support Ambulance Victoria's (AV) public policy and planning functions through policy analysis, monitoring regulatory developments, and assisting in alignment between strategy and delivery.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
While flexible and hybrid working arrangements are supported, the successful applicant will be required to maintain a regular presence at our headquarters (currently Blackburn, future Doncaster) in line with Ambulance Victoria's hybrid working model.
About the role
Reporting to the Director Strategic Planning this strategic role will coordinate engagement with government and stakeholders, translate government priorities into actionable outcomes, and prepare briefings, correspondence, and materials to support government relations activities.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Lead the development and implementation of public policy initiatives aligned with AV objectives
* Support in coordinating the Parliamentary Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC) process, working with Executive and stakeholders to ensure participants are appropriately prepared for hearings
* Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, presentations, and briefing materials for the Strategic Planning department, including responses to Parliamentary issues
* Contribute to the development of budget bids and supporting materials, working closely with finance to articulate funding requirements and strategic priorities




* Work effectively as part of a broader Enterprise Services Division fostering the development and maintenance of constructive and effective relationships across AV
About you
The successful candidate will have completion of a postgraduate degree or relevant industry certification (or progress toward) with high level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience.
Other requirements include but not limited to:
* Experience working in government or demonstrated experience working in a similar public policy role in a statutory authority
* Experience in the preparation of complex documentation for various stakeholders including extensive experience in preparing complex planning and policy documentation for senior audiences
* Proven conceptual and analytical skills, understanding of government budget and planning cycles and ability to interpret and distil information and ideas to formulate clearly defined action plans
* Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills along with solid and demonstrated experience in translating strategic direction into day-to-day activities
