About the Role Sankalp Indian Restaurant Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Cook to join its kitchen team.
The successful candidate will prepare and cook a range of Indian menu items in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards while maintaining consistent quality, portioning and food safety during daily service.
Location: 18 Hanlan Street, Surfers Paradise QLD **** Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $78,000 to $82,000 per annum plus Superannuation Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a range of Indian dishes in accordance with established recipes and kitchen procedures Prepare South Indian specialities, curries, paneer dishes, biryani and other menu items required for daily service Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and appropriate quality Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills,



stovetops and other cooking equipment during food preparation Season food during cooking to maintain consistent flavour and quality Portion and present meals in accordance with established restaurant standards Prepare food to meet dietary requirements and reasonable customer requests where required Monitor ingredient usage and assist with estimating food requirements for daily service Store, handle and rotate food appropriately, including within temperature-controlled storage areas Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, cooking equipment and food storage areas Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to support efficient service Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times Candidate Requirements Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen Experience preparing Indian cuisine, particularly South Indian dishes, will be highly regarded Strong knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques Ability to maintain consistent food quality, flavour, portioning and presentation Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment Only candidates currently residing in Australia will be shortlisted How to Apply Please submit your resume outlining your relevant experience and suitability for the position.
