The role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the café or restaurant, planning menus in consultation with Chefs, managing staff, coordinating purchasing and stock control, maintaining customer service and food quality standards, and ensuring compliance with relevant food safety, workplace health and safety, and operational requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Organise and oversee the daily operations of the café or restaurant.
Plan menus in consultation with Chefs, considering customer preferences, food costs and seasonal availability.
Arrange purchasing of food, beverages, equipment and other supplies.
Monitor stock levels, stock rotation, wastage and supplier orders.
Maintain records of sales, purchases, stock and operational expenses.
Monitor food, labour and operating costs and assist with budgeting.
Recruit, train, supervise and manage hospitality staff.
Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties according to operational requirements.
Coordinate kitchen and front-of-house activities to ensure efficient service.
Monitor food quality, presentation and customer service standards.
Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints and ensure appropriate resolution.




Plan and coordinate functions, events and special services where required.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety and other applicable requirements.
Monitor the cleanliness, maintenance and presentation of the premises.
Monitor sales and business performance and implement measures to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Work with the business owner and Chef to achieve operational, financial and customer service objectives.
Skills and Experience Experience in café, restaurant or hospitality management.
Solid leadership, communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of menu planning, purchasing, stock control and cost management.
Ability to manage staff, rosters and daily hospitality operations.
Understanding of Australian food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, Food and Beverage Management, Business Management or a related field is desirable.
Relevant hospitality management experience is required.
Demonstrated experience managing or supervising staff in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality establishment.
Experience in menu planning, purchasing, stock control, staff rostering and customer service.
Experience in managing operational costs and maintaining financial and stock records.
