As a Brighter Beginnings Senior Health Clinician, you'll play a key role in supporting the health, development and wellbeing of young children across Tamworth and the surrounding communities. This diverse position combines clinical practice, collaboration and service development, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through early intervention and proactive support.
Your role will include but is not limited to:
Conduct comprehensive, transdisciplinary health and development checks within early learning services across Tamworth and surrounding areas, supporting the early identification of health and developmental needs.
Provide expert information, advice and support to parents, carers and early childhood educators, helping build confidence and understanding around children's health and development.
Develop strong partnerships with early learning services, health professionals and external stakeholders to ensure Brighter Beginnings services are responsive, coordinated and connected.
Contribute to service improvement and innovation, identifying, testing and evaluating opportunities to strengthen the effectiveness and reach of the Brighter Beginnings program.
As the initiative continues to grow, provide clinical support and supervision to students and less experienced staff, contributing to capability development and a strong learning culture.
Participate in occasional travel across the LHD to deliver health and development checks in targeted communities, creating opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across different locations and strengthen connections across the team.
Supported by a multidisciplinary team, the position reports to the Brighter Beginnings Program Coordinator (Allied Health Clinician) and works alongside an experienced Health & Development Checks team comprising Child and Family Health Nurses, Allied Health Clinicians, Aboriginal Health Workers, Allied Health Assistants, Administration Officers, the Program Coordinator and Service Manager.
Together, you'll contribute to a collaborative and growing service focused on giving children the best possible start in life through early identification, connection and support.

Be part of Brighter Beginnings Health and Development Checks, a program aligned with the First **** Days Framework, supporting four-year-old children attending long day care and community preschool services across the region. Through early health and developmental checks,



the program helps identify emerging needs, connect families with the right support and give children the best possible foundation to thrive.
You'll join a multidisciplinary team of senior allied health clinicians, including Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists, experienced paediatric nurses, an Aboriginal Health Worker, Allied Health Assistants, Administration Officers and a dedicated Project Coordinator. With team members located across seven sites throughout the LHD, you'll be part of a connected service that brings together diverse expertise and perspectives.
Based at Tamworth Community Health, you'll work alongside an experienced nursing colleague while staying closely connected with the broader Brighter Beginnings team across the LHD.

Must hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through theAustralian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.
Must have sufficient professional experience to qualify for grade 3 Allied Health roles.
