About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious Accountant who is ready to step up and build a career beyond pure compliance work.
You will join Savvi as an Accountant and move into a Client Account Manager pathway, taking increasing ownership of an allocated portfolio of SME clients.




This is not a role where you sit behind the scenes and simply prepare one job after another.
You will become the person who knows the client, understands what is happening across their group, keeps work moving and makes sure they receive the support they need.
You will work closely with clients, our production team and senior advisers to solve problems, identify opportunities and deliver an exceptional client experience.
Unlike many traditional accounting roles, much of the preparation work is completed by our production team. Your focus will be on client relationships, workflow progression, quality review, communication and advisory support.
As your capability grows, you will take full ownership of your portfolio as a mini business, including client relationships, service standards, retention, revenue and growth.
We are not looking for someone who needs to be pushed.
We are looking for an A-player who learns quickly, takes responsibility and is ready to become exceptional.
Your Responsibilities
Progressively take ownership of an allocated portfolio of SME clients and manage it as a mini business, with clear revenue, retention and growth metrics.
Build trusted client relationships and become the primary point of contact for your portfolio
Participate in client meetings and progressively take responsibility for leading client conversations
Review financial statements, tax returns and BAS prepared by the production team
Manage client queries, information requests and follow-up communication
Coordinate workflow between clients, the production team and senior advisers




Ensure jobs continue to progress efficiently and clients remain informed throughout the process
dentify opportunities to better support clients and refer appropriate services internally
Provide feedback and guidance to the production team to improve quality and client outcomes
Support compliance with Australian taxation laws and regulatory requirements
About You
Ideally three to five years Australian public practice experience. We may consider an exceptional candidate with slightly less experience if you already have strong technical foundations, confidence dealing with clients and a clear track record of taking on more responsibility than others at your level.
CPA or CA, actively studying or committed to commencing
Strong technical skills across tax, compliance and financial reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can confidently contribute to client meetings, explain complex matters in plain language and are ready to lead more client conversations.
Comfortable building relationships and dealing directly with clients
Strong sense of ownership, urgency and accountability
Curios, humble, coachable and open to learning
A positive attitude and genuine desire to help others succeed
Experience with Xero and Xero Practice Manager is highly regarded
