The Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join an almond orchard operation in Darlington Point, NSW, within the horticulture and agriculture industry.
This is a hands-on technical role responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining farm and harvest machinery to support safe and efficient orchard operations.
You'll work in a practical, safety-focused setting, helping minimise equipment downtime through preventative maintenance, effective fault-finding, and well-planned repairs.
Key Responsibilities
You'll support reliable orchard operations by coordinating and completing machinery maintenance while maintaining accurate records and managing equipment requirements.
Service, repair, and maintain orchard and harvest machinery
Complete preventative maintenance and mechanical fault-finding
Coordinate maintenance activities to minimise equipment downtime
Manage spare parts inventory, purchase orders, and maintenance schedules
Maintain accurate equipment records and maintenance registers
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability
Support welding and fabrication work where required
Follow WHS procedures and promote safe maintenance practices




Competitive $***** per hour + penalty rates

Your Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you'll bring strong mechanical skills, practical problem-solving ability, and a commitment to safe and reliable equipment maintenance.
Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Diesel Mechanics, Metal Fabrication, or a similar is desirable
Experience maintaining agricultural, heavy vehicle, or industrial machinery
Strong mechanical fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills
Current driver's licence
Good computer, organisational, and record-keeping skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work with staff, contractors, and suppliers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
