This established organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join its Melbourne CBD team on an initial six-month fixed-term contract.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys remaining involved in payroll processing while providing leadership and support to one direct report.
Salary of $130,000–$140,000 + super

Responsibilities Include
Managing the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll
Remaining hands on across payroll processing, reconciliations and reporting
Lead, support and develop one direct report
Reviewing payroll data and ensuring accuracy before finalisation
Managing month end and year end payroll activities
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards and internal policies
Overseeing superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and statutory obligations




Managing employee and stakeholder payroll queries
Identifying and implementing payroll process improvements
Supporting audits and providing payroll reporting when required
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a Payroll Manager or senior payroll leadership role
Strong hands on end to end payroll experienceDemonstrated experience leading or mentoring payroll staff
Excellent understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance
Robust reconciliation, reporting and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines
Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to quickly understand new payroll systems and processes
Availability to commit to a six month fixed term contract
