Job Description
Blake Oliver Consulting is working with one of Australia's major banking groups to appoint two Local Business Bankers in Tasmania — one based in Hobart (inner-CBD) and one based in Launceston.
Both are growth hires, as the bank builds out its business banking presence across the state.
You'll build, acquire and maintain standout relationships with small business customers, with a primary focus on first-party home lending and business lending.
You'll inherit an established "nuts and bolts" portfolio and take ownership of growing it further — working flexibly and proactively, embedded locally in-branch, to deliver the best possible experience for your customers and find new ways to build your customer base, including internal referral networks and, where they arise, external referral partnerships.
What You'll Do
Manage and grow an existing portfolio of small business customers, with home lending and business lending as the core focus
Proactively source new business across your local market, building your own pipeline through local networking, walk-ins and internal referrals
Structure and present lending solutions that meet customer needs, operating within delegated lending authority
Build relationships with referral partners where genuine opportunities arise, while keeping first-party acquisition as your main focus
Manage your own workload independently,



balancing portfolio management with new business development while out in the market
What We're Looking For
Background in small business and home lending, with a track record of finding and generating new business
Proven results exceeding customer expectations, ideally with sales targets in a retail or business banking workplace
Hands-on retail lending experience, holding full credit conversations with customers and structuring solutions across multiple products
Strong people skills, enjoys meeting new faces and building networks
Strong business acumen and solid organisational skills, particularly for managing workload independently while on the go
