Youth Worker or Disability Support Worker – Complex Behaviours
We are seeking apatient, confident and experienced Disability Support Workerto support an 11-year-old boy living with the impacts of a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), ADHD, ODD and PTSD.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a Support Worker who enjoys working with children and can build astrong, positive relationshipwhile providing consistent support with emotional regulation, routines, community access and daily activities.
The successful candidate will be someone who can remain calm and composed during challenging situations and understands that behaviour is often a form of communication.
Key Responsibilities
Build apositive and trusting relationshipwith Atticus.
Follow Atticus'sPositive Behaviour Support Plan, routines and visual schedulesconsistently.
Supportemotional regulationand recognise early signs of escalation.
Respond calmly and confidently tochallenging behaviours, aggression and meltdowns.




Usepositive reinforcement, explicit boundaries and choicesto encourage appropriate behaviour.
Provideclose supervision to maintain safety, including during community access and around other children.
Superviseinternet, device and screen usein line with his safety plan.
Support appropriatepersonal boundaries and social interactions.
Maintain clear communication with thecare teamand report incidents or concerns.
About you:
Experience supporting children/young people with complex behaviours
Calm, patient and confident managing challenging behaviours
Strong understanding of positive behaviour support
Reliable and consistent
Essential Requirements:
Certificate III/IV in Disability, Individual Support or Community Services
Current WWCC, NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid & CPR, Police Check
Driver's licence, reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance
