Speech Pathologist - Senior (Acute Stroke and Rehab)

The Speech Pathologist Senior role is responsible for providing high level clinical speech pathology services.
This role may be required to rotate through various services (which may include services providing after hours service) within the health service.
Temporary Part-time opportunity for up to 3 months with the possibility of extension - 0.8 FTE, 60.8 hours per fortnight.

What you'll be doing
Deliver high level speech pathology clinical services within a rehabilitation framework in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards and organisational protocols.
This may include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and case management within a multidisciplinary team.




Apply independent professional judgement to a complex and varied caseload and demonstrate the ability to adapt routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
Provide high level skilled clinical advice and education to clients and their families, other members of the multidisciplinary team and other service providers involved in the clients care.
What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
High level of clinical services and leadership in inpatient speech pathology rehabilitation practice with demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice and expertise in accordance with organisational goals.
Excellent communication skills with clients, service providers, co-workers, and managers at all levels that enable the development of improved service delivery outcomes and effective relationships.
Proactive approach to own continuous learning / networking and shares information with the team to promote a learning environment.
Ability to initiate, plan, implement, and evaluate local service improvement and/or research initiatives.
Ability to provide clinical supervision to speech pathology staff and students.
Mandatory Requirements
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. *****
Possession of a tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia.
