An established and growing construction business is looking for an experienced Estimator to join its Canberra team.

The Role
n
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a range of commercial construction projects. You'll work closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are priced accurately and strategically. Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates and tenders
n
Reviewing plans, specifications, scopes and contract documentation
n
Preparing subcontractor and supplier packages and managing the tender process
n
Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
n
Identifying project risks, exclusions, variations and opportunities
n
Developing accurate construction methodologies and preliminary costs
n
Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation
n
Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
n
Working closely with Project Managers and the wider construction team
n
Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers across the ACT market
n

About You
n
We're looking for an Estimator who combines strong technical estimating skills with a commercial mindset and a good understanding of the Canberra construction market.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
Previous experience as an Estimator within the commercial construction industry
n
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials and processes
n
The ability to interpret architectural, structural and services drawings
n
Experience preparing tenders from initial review through to submission
n
Strong subcontractor and supplier relationships
n
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
n
Strong communication and negotiation skills
n
The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
n
Relevant construction, quantity surveying or estimating qualifications are advantageous
n
