What Will You Learn?
As an Apprentice Boat Builder, no two days will be exactly the same.
You'll learn skills including:
Using hand tools and power tools safely




Building fiberglass components using open-mould hand layup
Dry lamination for vacuum infusion
Sanding, shaping and finishing fiberglass
Gelcoat and marine spraying
Helping with rigging and fitting out current boats
Assisting with sea trials on Pilot Boats
Helping deliver boats around Australia and overseas
General workshop and factory skills
Don't worry if you've never done this before —we don't expect you to know it all on day one.What matters most is that you're keen to learn and have a go.

Get Qualified While You Work
Complete your apprenticeship with Hart Marine and you'll have the opportunity to become aqualified Boat Builderand earn yourCertificate III in Marine Craft Construction.
You'll finish your apprenticeship with a recognised trade qualification, practical skills and experience that can take you well beyond your first job.
