Microvellum Draftsperson - Joinery Production Team
Zero 9 are looking for an experienced Microvellum / CAD Draftsperson to join our HQ at Burleigh Heads.
Reporting to our Production Manager, and working alongside a team with deep knowledge across building, construction, shopfitting and cabinet making, you will play a key role turning design intent and site requirements into accurate, buildable documentation across our commercial shopfitting and residential projects.
This is a full-time position, with fixed hours between 7:00am – 3:00pm or 8:00am – 4:00pm to suit.
This role calls for specific hands‐on experience in Microvellum, our drawing package of choice, which integrates directly with our CNC machine, giving you real ownership over how your drawings come to life in production.
As our resident Microvellum specialist, you'll own the software side with genuine independence, backed by a team who know construction and joinery inside out.
The ideal candidate will have proven drafting experience, sharp time management, and a genuine passion for helping bring our incredible spaces to life!
Key responsibilitiesOwn the CAD side of the role as our resident Microvellum specialist, managing your own drafting workload independently.
Collaborate with the Production Manager and wider production team to plan and prioritise drafting work across live projects.
Produce accurate Microvellum drawings, shop drawings and construction detail for both commercial shopfitting and residential projects, ready to flow straight into our CNC production.
Ensure all drawings and CNC files are reviewed and signed off by the Production Manager before anything is cut or goes into production.
Translate architectural drawings, specifications and site information into clear, production-ready documentation that reflects what can genuinely be built and installed on site.




Consult internally across design, production and site teams to iron out the details before they become expensive problems on the factory floor.
Come to team meetings prepared and engaged, thinking ahead, raising ideas and flagging potential issues early, rather than reacting once they've already become a problem.
Proactively raise questions, blockers or missing information as they come up, rather than sitting on them until a deadline forces the issue.
Manage revisions, drawing registers and documentation control across multiple concurrent projects.
Keep your own schedule on track and hit deadlines, even when the timeline gets tight, keeping the team informed along the way.
About youProven, hands‐on experience in Microvellum is essential, you know the package inside out and can work in it with genuine independence from day one.
Understanding of how Microvellum output integrates with CNC production, and the accuracy that requires.
Confident owning the CAD/software side of the role independently, while collaborating closely with the team's construction and trade expertise.
Respect for process, you understand the importance of sign-off and will never send files to CNC production without Production Manager approval.
A genuinely cooperative approach, you thrive as part of a team and keep others in the loop, rather than working in isolation.
A strong practical understanding of how a drawing becomes a real,



buildable and installable product, not just an accurate one on paper.
Reliable and communicative, you flag issues as they arise rather than letting them become roadblocks.
A natural communicator, written and verbal, comfortable liaising across office, factory and site.
Excellent time management, you can juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball.
Sharp attention to detail and accuracy, nothing gets past you.

Comfortable working to tight deadlines without losing your cool, or your accuracy.
Experience across commercial and/or residential construction or shopfitting highly regarded.

Competitive salary of $90,000 – $110,000 + Super, dependent on experience.
