Job Description
Our client is a global equipment OEM manufacturing and supporting high-end, technically advanced equipment across Rail, Marine, Data Centres, Australian Army, Navy and Air Force applications.
n
We are now looking for an experienced State Service Manager to take ownership of a high-performing service operation and lead a specialist technical team across NSW.
n
This is a senior leadership position for an experienced Marine Technician, Service Manager, Workshop Manager or Technical Supervisor who has the technical credibility, structure and leadership capability to manage a complex service environment.

THE TEAM
n

4 x Technical Advisors
n
1 x Service Administrator
n
3 x Navy Specialist Engineers based directly on Navy bases
n
n
You will be responsible for driving team performance, utilisation, productivity, technical standards and customer outcomes while developing the next generation of technical leaders.
n
THE ROLE
n
n
Leading and managing the State Service operation and technical team
n
Managing team utilisation, productivity and P&L; responsibility
n
Supporting and developing 2 Service Supervisors
n
Driving technician performance, efficiency and accountability
n
Managing training, development and technical capability across the team
n
Overseeing warranty processes and ensuring accurate warranty recovery
n
Maintaining high levels of technical and service quality
n
Conducting regular toolbox meetings and safety meetings
n
Driving a strong safety-first culture
n
Working closely with Technical Advisors, Engineers and OEM stakeholders
n
Supporting major Marine, Defence, Rail and critical infrastructure customers
n
Managing service priorities, resources and field support requirements
n
Ensuring the team operates within OEM processes, procedures and compliance requirements
n
Providing leadership to specialist engineers working directly from Navy bases
n
n
ABOUT YOU
n
We are looking for a strong people leader with genuine technical credibility.
n
You will ideally come from a Marine/Defence technical background, with previous experience progressing from Technician into a supervisory or management position.
n
You will bring:

Previous experience as a Marine Technician, Marine Supervisor, Service Manager or Technical Manager
n
Strong leadership and people-management skills
n
Excellent technical acumen
n
A highly structured and process-driven approach
n
Experience managing technicians and technical teams
n
Solid understanding of productivity, utilisation and service performance
n
Experience with warranty and OEM service processes
n
A strong focus on safety and compliance
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
n
The ability to lead experienced technical people and hold them accountable
n
A calm, organised and professional management style
n
The ability to operate within a highly structured global OEM environment
