n Rate: $*****–$***** per hour + Super
n Hours: 38 hours per week | 7.6 hours per day
n Hybrid: Work from home up to 5 days per fortnight. Tuesday and Thursday are required office days, with the additional office day at the candidate's discretion.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join Homes NSW within the Department of Communities and Justice on a 12-month contract based in Parramatta.
n
About the Role
n
This role is suited to an experienced strategic planner with a strong background in planning proposals, master planning, planning due diligence and the review and interpretation of planning policy.
n
The Senior Planner will provide high-level strategic planning advice to support housing and property initiatives, assess planning opportunities and constraints, review government planning policies and contribute to the development of practical planning strategies and recommendations.
n
This is not a building or construction compliance-focused planning role.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide senior-level strategic planning advice across housing, property and development matters.
n
Review and provide advice on planning proposals, master plans and strategic planning initiatives.
n
Undertake planning due diligence, including identifying planning opportunities, constraints and risks.
n
Review, interpret and critique planning policies, strategies and legislative frameworks and assess their implications for projects and initiatives.
n
Undertake strategic planning studies, research and analysis and develop practical planning recommendations.
n
Prepare high-quality planning reports, submissions, briefs, advice and recommendations.
n




Review planning documentation and third-party submissions and provide specialist planning input.
n
Manage and coordinate planning consultants and other specialist service providers as required.
n
Work closely with internal teams, government agencies, councils, consultants and other stakeholders to progress planning outcomes.

About You
n
To be successful, you will be an experienced senior-level urban, regional or strategic planner with demonstrated strategic planning experience.
n
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in areas such as planning proposals, master planning, planning due diligence, strategic planning studies and planning policy critique/review.
n
You will ideally be currently operating at a Senior Planner level, or have several years of qualified planning experience demonstrating the ability to provide independent, high-level planning advice.
n
Candidates whose experience is predominantly focused on building approvals, construction inspections or
building/construction
compliance are unlikely to be suited to this position.

Essential Requirements
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning or a related discipline, or equivalent planning experience.
n
Demonstrated strategic planning experience, including experience in one or more of the following:n
n
Planning proposals
n
Master planning
n
Planning due diligence
n
Strategic planning studies
n
Planning policy review, critique or development
n
n
Senior-level planning experience, either in a current senior role or through several years of relevant professional planning experience.
n
Strong knowledge of planning legislation, policy and strategic planning frameworks.
n
Eligibility for membership of a relevant industry association.
n
Current driver's licence.
n
White Card.
