The Chance Due to continued growth, our client is seeking experienced Forklift Operators / Production Loaders to join their Townsville operation. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working with sheet metal and steel building products used across commercial and residential projects.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Operate forklifts to move steel coils, sheet metal and finished products throughout the facility
n
Load and unload trucks with steel roofing, walling and other oversized materials
n
Feed sheet metal into and out of production machinery and roll-forming lines
n
Apply adhesive coatings and protective films to finished products
n




Safely load steel coils onto mills and production equipment
n
Complete load restraint and strapping duties for transport
n
Operate gantry cranes (training provided)
n
Perform manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods throughout the shift
n
Work closely with production and dispatch teams to meet daily targets
n
Maintain a clean and protected work environment
n

About You
n
n
Current LF Forklift Licence
n
Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, warehouse or steel environments
n
Comfortable handling long-length or non-standard materials
n
Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
n
Strong commitment to workplace safety
n
Gantry crane experience highly regarded but not essential
n
Reliable, team-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment
n
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
Current LF Forklift Licence
n
Previous experience loading steel, timber, piping, or oversized products
n
Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, transport, yard, or warehouse environments
n
Understanding of load restraint and safe loading practices
n
Ability to work day shift
n
Robust commitment to safety and teamwork
n
Reliable transport and strong work ethic
