The Senior Project
Coordinator/Engineer
is responsible for partnering with the Project Manager to drive the project's safety, quality, program, and commercial objectives, taking a leading role in the day-to-day management and coordination of the project team.

It is vital the Senior Project
Coordinator/Engineer
works effectively with all contractors, consultants, and team members across the company, understanding how each party's performance impacts the others, to ensure a cohesive, efficient, and profitable operation.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret complex project documents, extract key deliverables, and advise the project team on their implications.
n
Lead quality planning and the development of robust risk management methods across the project.
n
Monitor and review the Project Quality Management Plan and Design Management Plan, recommending improvements to drive effectiveness.
n
Oversee the execution of all aspects of project works to ensure compliance with expected quality requirements.
n
Drive the implementation of Inspection Test Plans, ensuring alignment with the Quality Management Plan and taking corrective action where required.
n
Ensure current design intent is being constructed by leading the review of new and revised drawings, providing detailed technical comment, and issuing to consultants for update or subcontractors for construction.
n
Lead detailed Subcontractor Shop Drawing reviews, coordinating input from consultants and internal stakeholders as required.
n
Proactively identify and prevent design-related discrepancies by managing the RFI process end-to-end — raising RFIs with relevant consultants, assessing advice received, and issuing explicit direction to relevant parties.
n




Ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the BCA and statutory regulations, engaging and directing consultants to resolve non-compliances and design issues.
n
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders (authorities, developers, designers, finance, subcontractors, consultants, etc.), acting as a key point of contact on project matters.
n
Mentor and provide guidance to junior coordinators or graduate engineers within the project team.
n
Support the Project Manager in commercial reporting, program tracking, and identifying risks to project delivery.
n
About You
n
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a relevant tertiary qualification in a related field.
n
7+ years of experience in the residential construction industry, with demonstrated experience across multiple project phases.
n
Proven ability to work autonomously and take ownership of key project functions with minimal oversight.
n
Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple work fronts.
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders, consultants, and authorities.
n
High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills, with sound judgement in resolving complex design and construction issues.
n
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team, including subcontractors and other stakeholders.
n
Thorough and current knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and regulations, including the BCA and relevant statutory requirements.
n
Proficiency with Procore, Jobpac, and Payapps project cost control systems.
n
