About the role
n
As the Payroll Team Lead, you'll own end-to-end payroll for the business across weekly and fortnightly pay cycles. You'll report to the National Payroll Lead and work within a collaborative team of five. You'll be a go-to person for employees and managers across the business, and a driver of compliance, accuracy and timeliness.

What you'll be doing

Overseeing daily payroll processing, including reviewing payroll data for accuracy
n
Managing timesheets, salary and wage payments, EOM reconciliations and payments, and the distribution of payroll deductions
n
Maintaining employee records
n
Making sure all legislated requirements are met and reporting obligations are handled correctly
n
Interpreting Awards and applying them confidently
n
Identifying and correcting potential payroll issues before they become problems
n
Supporting payroll system enhancements and improving processes and efficiencies
n
Mentoring, developing and training team members
n

About you

Proven experience managing end-to-end, multi-frequency payroll cycles
n
Solid Award interpretation skills
n
A solid understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting
n
Working knowledge of payroll systems and processes
n
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot and fix issues early
n
Strong organisational, time management and communication skills
n
A self-motivated, goal-driven approach, with a track record of working well in a team
n
