What you'll be doing:
n
Preparing and cooking high-quality breakfast & lunch dishes for our daily menu and specials
n
Delivering standout platters, buffets, canapés, boxed lunches, and tailored catering for university departments, corporate clients, and events
n
Assisting with menu development, seasonal specials, and custom catering proposals
n
Managing stock, portion control, waste minimisation, and food safety standards (HACCP)
n
Working efficiently during peak service and event prep
n
Keeping the kitchen spotless, organised, and compliant
n
What we're looking for:
n
Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery (or solid equivalent experience)
n




Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualification required for this position
n
Candidates without formal cookery qualifications must demonstrate a minimum of 3+ years commercial cooking experience
n
2+ years' kitchen experience (cafe, bistro, catering, corporate, university, or similar fast-paced environments)
n
Strong skills in grilling, sautéing, frying, plating, sandwich/salad prep, and buffet/catering presentation
n
Passion for fresh ingredients and consistent quality
n
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude — no egos here!
n
Reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure
n
Available for Monday to Friday shifts (daytime hours, typically 7am–4pm during semester; no weekends!)
n
Australian work rights – no visa sponsorship available
n
Competitive salary $65,000 – $75,000 per year (based on experience & qualifications) + super

Monday to Friday only — reclaim your weekends!
