About the Role
n
We are seeking a talented and motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Newcastle.
n
This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the delivery and management of IT projects for our managed services clients. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a variety of infrastructure, cloud, networking, and modern workplace projects whilst ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
n
Working closely with Project Coordinators, Service Delivery teams, and client stakeholders, you will contribute directly to the success of our clients' technology initiatives and digital transformation projects.
n




Key Responsibilities
n
n
Execute IT infrastructure, server migration, and cloud deployment projects on schedule and within scope.
n
Perform tenant-to-tenant and legacy-to-cloud migrations across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
n
Deploy, configure, and support networking solutions including firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and VPN technologies.
n
Configure and manage technologies such as FortiGate, SonicWall, Cisco, Meraki, and similar platforms.
n
Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and vendors to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and successfully delivered.
n
Monitor project progress, timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables.
n
Identify and manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies where required.
n
Produce high-quality technical documentation, implementation notes, configurations, and handover guides.
n
Collaborate with Service Delivery and Help Desk teams to ensure seamless project transitions.
n
Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders and team members.
n
Conduct project reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
n
Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with company and client requirements.
n
Communicate effectively with clients through project kick-offs, progress updates, and final sign-offs.
n
Troubleshoot technical issues and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

What We're Looking For
n
Essential Skills and Experience
n
n
3+ years of experience in project engineering, technical project delivery, or professional services within an MSP environment.
n
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Windows Server environments.
n
Experience delivering cloud migration, infrastructure, and modern workplace projects.
n




Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and firewall configuration.
n
Experience deploying and supporting enterprise-grade networking technologies.
n
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.
n
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
n
Robust problem-solving capabilities and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
n
A commitment to producing high-quality technical documentation and project outcomes.
n

Desirable Qualifications
n
n
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
n
Microsoft 365 certifications.
n
Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certifications.
n
PRINCE2, CompTIA Project+, or other project management qualifications.
n
Exposure to cybersecurity and modern workplace technologies.
n
Experience with ticketing systems, asset management platforms, and IT service delivery tools.
