The Opportunity
n
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to take ownership of industrial automation projects from initial requirements and control-system design through to commissioning and handover.
n
You will work closely with clients and internal project teams to define technical requirements, develop reliable PLC and SCADA solutions, and resolve complex engineering challenges.
n
This permanent position offers exposure to projects across water, manufacturing, resources, transport, utilities, renewables and heavy industry.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Work with clients and internal stakeholders to define project scope and technical requirements.
n
Lead the design, development and implementation of industrial control systems.
n
Develop and modify PLC, RTU, SCADA and HMI applications.
n
Prepare control philosophies, functional descriptions, I/O schedules and system architecture documentation.
n
Integrate instrumentation, VSDs, PID loops, safety interfaces and OT networking equipment.
n
Produce high-quality engineering documentation and client-ready deliverables.
n
Review specifications, drawings, technical submissions and supplier quotations.
n
Plan and undertake FAT, SAT, commissioning and site-based testing activities.
n
Troubleshoot complex control-system, communication and integration issues.
n
Coordinate with clients,



suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
n
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and continuous improvement.
n
Ensure designs and project activities meet safety, quality and performance requirements.
n

About You
n
You will ideally possess:
n
n
A degree or trade qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control Systems or a related discipline.
n
At least five years of industrial automation or control-systems experience.
n
Practical PLC or RTU programming experience using platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens or Schneider.
n
End-to-end SCADA and HMI experience with platforms such as Ignition, AVEVA, FactoryTalk or WinCC.
n
Experience integrating industrial instrumentation, drives, control panels and communications networks.
n
Exposure to system integration, FAT, SAT, commissioning and site-based fault-finding.
n
Strong analytical skills and sound technical judgement.
n
Transparent client-facing communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
n
The ability to explain complex technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
n
A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor developing engineers.
n
Full Australian working rights and a current driver's licence.
n
n
