Banjo's Bakery Cafe is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistants to join our team at our Burpengary location. This is a casual position offering flexible working arrangements perfect for those seeking part-time employment or looking to fit work around other commitments. As a Sales Assistant, you will be the friendly face of our bakery cafe, creating memorable customer experiences whilst supporting the smooth operation of our retail environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and leave our cafe delighted with their visit.

What you'll be doing

Greeting customers warmly and providing excellent customer service across all interactions
n
Processing sales transactions accurately using our point-of-sale systems
n
Assisting customers with product selections and answering questions about our bakery offerings
n
Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised sales floor and display areas
n
Restocking shelves and merchandise displays to ensure product availability
n
Handling cash and card payments with accuracy and attention to detail
n
Supporting the team in preparing the cafe for service and closing procedures
n
Promoting our products and suggesting items to enhance the customer experience
n
Following health, safety and food handling protocols at all times
n
Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues as needed

What we're looking for

Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for creating positive customer interactions

The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment

Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor

Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to commit to scheduled shifts

Basic numeracy skills for handling cash transactions accurately

A willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes

Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate items
n
Flexibility to work during various shifts, including peak trading times
n
Prior retail or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential for enthusiastic candidates
n
Current or willingness to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate is preferred
