The Opportunity
n
You will work alongside experienced project and construction leaders delivering significant commercial façade packages across Melbourne.
n
This is not a purely administrative project role.
n
We want someone who wants to understand the whole project — design, procurement, manufacturing, programme, labour, installation, commercial performance and client relationships.
n
You will be given responsibility, supported by experienced people and progressively exposed to larger and more complex projects as your capability develops.
n
The Role
n
Depending on your experience, your responsibilities will include:
n
n




Assisting with and progressively taking ownership of commercial façade projects.
n
Coordinating design, shop drawings, engineering and technical approvals.
n
Working closely with site teams to understand installation sequencing and programme requirements.
n
Tracking project programmes, milestones and upcoming deliverables.
n
Coordinating procurement, materials, manufacturing and deliveries.
n
Assisting with labour planning and forward resource requirements.
n
Managing RFIs, variations and project documentation.
n
Monitoring project costs and developing your understanding of forecasting and commercial performance.
n
Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers.
n
Attending builder and consultant meetings.
n
Building solid working relationships with clients, consultants and internal teams.
n
Supporting project QA/QC and safety requirements.
n
Identifying project risks and raising issues early.
n
Working with senior project staff to resolve technical, programme and site issues.
n
Taking increasing ownership of project outcomes as your experience develops.

Who We're Looking For
n
We are looking for someone with approximately 3-7 years' experience within façades, commercial construction or a closely related specialist subcontracting environment.
n
Façade experience would be strongly preferred.
n
You may have developed your experience through site management, project coordination, design, contracts administration or project management.
n
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is hungry to learn and ready for greater responsibility.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
Experience in commercial façades, curtain wall, glazing or architectural cladding.
n
An understanding of construction drawings and façade details.
n




Good technical and problem-solving ability.
n
Exposure to design and shop drawing coordination.
n
Understanding of construction programmes and site sequencing.
n
Strong organisation and communication skills.
n
Confidence dealing with builders, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
n
Some exposure to project costs, variations and commercial management.
n
A practical understanding of site delivery.
n
The ability to identify problems and follow them through to resolution.
n
A willingness to take ownership rather than wait to be directed.
n
The ambition to develop into a senior project leader.
n
n
Qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline would be highly regarded but are not essential where strong industry experience can be demonstrated.
