About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Venue Manager to take primary responsibility for the day-to-day operation of Horizon Sky Dining.
While reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be the key operational leader within the venue, taking ownership of daily service, team performance, guest experience, training and development, labour management and overall restaurant performance.
This is a highly visible, hands‐on leadership role for an experienced restaurant professional who is confident leading from the floor and taking ownership of a busy operation. You'll oversee opening and closing procedures, rostering, stock and beverage controls, guest recovery and maintaining consistently high operational standards.
You'll also play an important role in developing and supporting the team, creating a positive culture and ensuring service standards are consistently delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Take primary responsibility for the day‐to‐day operation of Horizon Sky Dining
Lead from the floor and maintain exceptional service and presentation standards
Manage daily opening and closing procedures
Lead, coach and develop the restaurant team
Assist with rostering, labour management and daily operational planning
Maintain strong stock, beverage and cost control
Manage guest feedback and service recovery professionally
Monitor restaurant presentation, cleanliness and operational standards
Deliver team briefings and ensure staff are confident in their roles
Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and wider hotel leadership team
Drive a positive team culture and consistently high guest experience
About You




Minimum 2 years' experience with primary responsibility for the day‐to‐day operations of a Food & Beverage outlet
Experience within a 4 to 5-star hotel environment is essential
Proven experience leading a busy restaurant operation
Confident taking ownership of day‐to‐day venue performance
Strong leadership, communication and team development skills
Excellent understanding of service standards, labour management and operational controls
Highly organised with solid attention to detail
Confident managing guest feedback and service recovery
A hands‐on leadership style with a genuine passion for hospitality
Ability to work across a flexible roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
