About the role
n
The Human Resources Officer is a member of the broader People & Culture team and provides support to the Senior Human Resources Officer and Director of People & Culture. In addition, the Human Resources Officer delivers high quality support and assistance to employees and managers across GEO Healthcare.
n
Based at GEO Healthcare's Head Office in Melbourne CBD, this role is responsible for a range of HR and recruitment activities that contribute to effective and efficient People & Culture systems and processes. You will play a key role in supporting workforce growth through the coordination of end to end recruitment activities for a new healthcare location, while also contributing to broader HR initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes from advertisement through to appointment
n
Providing advice and guidance on GEO Healthcare policies and procedures
n
Preparing employment contracts and other confidential HR documentation
n
Maintaining employee records in accordance with legislative requirements
n
Supporting HR projects, initiatives and system improvements
n
Assisting managers and employees with day to day HR enquiries
n
n

Skills and Experience
n
Essential
n
The ideal candidate will have:
n
n
Previous experience managing high volume recruitment activities.
n
Previous experience in HR administration or a Human Resources role, with a sound understanding of HR functions and recruitment practices.
n
Experience interpreting employment legislation including the Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and related legislation.
n
Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
n
Outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
n
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
n
High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
n
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
n
Membership of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
n
Experience with payroll processes and payroll legislation.
n
Previous experience within healthcare or a health related environment.
n
Experience using SharePoint, TRIM, KRONOS and Infinium.
n

Other Requirements of the Role
n
n
Ability to work onsite 5 days per week.
n
Ability to travel to various sites across Victoria as required.
n
Ability to work within a correctional setting, which may involve indirect contact with prisoners.
n
Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check and pre employment Medical.
n
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
n
Working outside ordinary business hours may occasionally be required.
n
Valid and current full Australian Driver's Licence.
