We're looking for a creative and enthusiastic Design Assistant to join our small, collaborative team, working closely on the design and development of Fate + Becker.

As part of a growing wholesale business with an expanding online presence, this is a hands-on role with the opportunity to be involved across the entire creative process — from initial trend and concept development through to building cohesive seasonal ranges, print development, product design and campaign photoshoots.

Working closely with the Design Manager, you'll help bring each collection to life across all categories, ensuring ranges feel considered, commercial and true to the Fate + Becker aesthetic.

Working closely with the Design Manager, you'll help bring each collection to life across all categories, ensuring ranges feel considered, commercial and true to the Fate + Becker aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities
n
Range & Product Development: Assist in building cohesive seasonal ranges across dresses, tops, bottoms, outerwear and lifestyle categories, from initial concept through to final product.
n
Trend & Market Research: Research emerging fashion, colour, print and silhouette trends,



competitor activity and broader market direction to help inspire each collection.
n
Print & Artwork Development: Work confidently with prints, placements, repeats, colourways and artwork, preparing and adapting designs using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
n
Design & Technical Support: Assist with garment sketches, CADs, colourways, design updates and technical packs, communicating design details clearly to suppliers.
n
Colour & Fabric: Support the development of seasonal colour palettes, fabric selections and print stories to create ranges that feel cohesive and considered.
n
Photoshoots & Creative Concepts: Contribute to campaign and e-commerce shoot concepts, mood boards, styling direction and shoot preparation, with the prospect to help bring creative ideas to life on set.

Sample & Development Management: Assist with samples, fittings, comments and approvals throughout the development process, helping keep ranges moving to deadline.

What We're Looking For
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or a related field.
n
Ideally 1+ years' experience in a fashion design or design assistant role.
n
Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are essential.
n
Confidence working with prints, repeats, colourways and textile artwork.
n
A strong eye for colour, proportion,



styling and range cohesion.
n
Genuine interest in fashion trends and the ability to translate trends into wearable, commercial product.
n
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
n
Comfortable working across multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
n
A positive, proactive approach and willingness to get involved across all areas of a small business.
n
Someone who brings ideas to the table and is excited to grow creatively within the role.
