Job Description
Joss is seeking a Payroll Trainee to join our growing Finance team in a full‐time position based in Albury, NSW ****.
As a Payroll Trainee, you will be part of a supportive team environment where you will gain practical, hands‐on experience in payroll operations and administration.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in payroll processing, compliance, and employee support whilst working under the guidance of experienced payroll professionals.
You will play an important part in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time, which is fundamental to the smooth operation of our business.
The Traineeship qualification will be determined to suit your level of education & experience.
Key responsibilities
Processing and maintaining payroll records for employees, including timesheets, leave requests and deductions
Assisting with the preparation and distribution of payslips and pay‐related documentation
Supporting the reconciliation of payroll accounts and identifying discrepancies
Maintaining accurate payroll databases and filing systems in compliance with relevant regulations
Responding to employee queries regarding pay, leave entitlements and payroll‐related matters
Supporting compliance with superannuation contributions and PAYG withholding obligations
Learning and applying payroll software systems and other relevant tools




Assisting senior payroll staff with special projects and ad‐hoc payroll tasks as required
What we're looking for
A keen interest in payroll, accounting, or human resources administration
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Valuable communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications
A willingness to learn and develop your payroll knowledge and skills
High school certificate or equivalent qualification
A reliable and professional approach to work.
Expenses associated to course and training requirements will be borne by Joss.
