Acacia Ridge Hotel is looking for an experienced and hands‐on Casual Duty Manager to join our management team, with hours available predominantly across evenings, late nights and weekends.
n
Known locally as The Ridge, Acacia Ridge Hotel is a proud Brisbane local offering food and beverage, a large gaming room, TAB and Keno, motel accommodation and multiple function spaces.
n
But more importantly, we want to be the pub that feels like home.

We're looking for a Duty Manager who understands that great hospitality starts with the team on the floor.
n
This isn't about sitting in an office and watching the night happen.

You'll be right in the middle of it.

The Role
n
As Duty Manager, you will take ownership of the venue and team during your rostered shifts, working closely with our General Manager and broader leadership team.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Managing the overall operation of the venue while on shift
n
Maintaining a strong and visible management presence on the floor
n
Leading, motivating and supporting a fun and energetic team
n
Coaching, training and mentoring staff to maintain standards and develop their skills
n
Driving exceptional customer service across the venue
n
Managing busy evening and late-night trade
n
Supporting bar, gaming, TAB and Keno operations
n
Managing customer concerns and incidents calmly and professionally
n
Working closely with security during late-night trade
n
Ensuring liquor, gaming, RSA/RSG and venue compliance requirements are followed
n
Maintaining strong venue presentation, cleanliness and service standards
n




Monitoring labour and making sensible staffing decisions based on trade
n
Assisting with cash handling, reconciliations and closing procedures
n
Supporting stock management and stocktake processes
n
Communicating clearly with the management team at shift handover
n
Being willing to jump in and help wherever the venue needs you
n
n
At The Ridge, our Duty Managers don't simply supervise a shift.
n
They set the tone for it.
n
About You
n
We're looking for someone who brings confidence, energy and genuine hospitality leadership.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Supervisor or hospitality manager
n
Strong food, beverage and gaming experience
n
Confidence managing a busy licensed venue
n
Good knowledge of gaming, TAB and Keno
n
Robust leadership and people-management skills
n
A passion for customer service
n
High standards of presentation and attention to detail
n
The ability to coach, train and professionally direct staff
n
Strong time-management and organisational skills
n
Confidence managing incidents and difficult situations
n
An understanding of labour control and commercial venue operations
n
The ability to think on your feet and adapt when trade changes
n
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a developing management team
n
Functions, events or accommodation experience would be advantageous
n
n
Qualifications
n
You should hold the appropriate Queensland qualifications relevant to the role, including:
n

Current RSA
n




Current RSG
n
RMLV
n
Approved Manager
n
CLO
n
Current First Aid highly regarded
n
n

Availability
n
This is a casual position with hours available, particularly across:
n
n
Evening shifts
n
Late-night trade
n
Friday and Saturday nights
n
Weekends
n
Public holidays and peak trading periods
n
n
You need to be genuinely comfortable with late finishes.
n
We want to be upfront about the hours because we're looking for somebody whose availability actually matches the role and who enjoys the energy of nighttime hospitality.
