The Opportunity
n
We're thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join the team at NOMAD Melbourne as our Head Sommelier. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced wine professional to take the reins and lead our wine program.
n
This role offers the chance to work in a vibrant, high-end environment and contribute to the continued success and growth of our wine offering. As Head Sommelier, you will play a key role in curating our wine list, training and mentoring our team, and elevating the guest experience with your expertise and passion. A high degree of autonomy is given in regards to purchasing and wine selections, allowing you to truly grow and develop the program.

Our ideal candidate will have
n
Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an Assistant/Head Sommelier in Hatted or similar level of premium dining restaurants.
n
Exceptional guest experience and communication skills.
n




Strong knowledge of Australian wines.
n
WSET Diploma or CMS Advanced Certification preferred, but not required
n
Proven experience in stocktaking and inventory management
n
Familiarity with ordering and invoicing procedures
n
Experience with POS system programming
n
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
n
Excellent administrative capabilities
