Front-End Developer – React & TypeScript (Web Developer) Location: Canberra ACT - Onsite Rate: $90–$110 per hour incl. super Clearance: NV1 minimum

Canberra Consulting is seeking an experienced React / TypeScript Developer to join a high-performing Agile delivery team supporting the development and enhancement of a significant public-facing cyber capability within the Australian Government.
n
This is a hands-on development role requiring strong experience across React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Single-Page Applications and Node.js-based APIs.

Mandatory requirements

Applicants must:

Be an Australian Citizen
n
Hold a current AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance or higher
n
Be Canberra-based or able to work onsite in the ACT
n
Have demonstrated commercial experience developing contemporary React / TypeScript applications
n
n
The role
n
Working within an Agile multi-disciplinary team of developers, business analysts and testers, you will design, develop, integrate and support contemporary web applications, components and APIs.
n
You will contribute to the ongoing development of a public-facing cyber reporting capability and work closely with business and product stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, reliable and maintainable software.
n
Responsibilities will include:
n
n
Designing and developing web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript and ES6
n
Building and maintaining modern Single-Page Applications
n




Implementing state management solutions such as Redux or MobX
n
Developing responsive user interfaces from UX and design specifications
n
Designing and integrating RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express
n
Implementing secure authentication workflows and appropriate data-handling practices
n
Developing and maintaining automated unit testing using frameworks such as Jest
n
Working with modern build tools and bundlers including Webpack
n
Participating in Agile, Scrum and Kanban delivery environments
n
Troubleshooting application, system and integration issues
n
Producing detailed technical and solution design documentation
n
Supporting continuous improvement of development practices, automation and delivery processes
n
n
Skills and experience
n
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong demonstrated experience across:

TypeScript
n
JavaScript / ES6
n
Node.js and Express
n
RESTful APIs
n
SPA architecture
n
Redux, MobX or similar state-management frameworks
n
Responsive web design
n
Webpack or comparable build tooling
n
Jest or similar automated testing frameworks
n
Agile software development environments
n
n
Experience delivering secure or public-facing applications within Defence, ASD, national security or broader Federal Government environments will be highly regarded.
n
