What's the opportunity?
n
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the safe and successful delivery of underground mining at one of Western Australia's most significant gold operations. Working on an 8:6 roster (Thursday to Thursday), you'll join a technically solid team where your expertise will directly influence underground stability, mine design, seismic risk management, and operational performance.

Based at our Mungari Operations and reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll have the flexibility to work residentially in Kalgoorlie-Boulder (relocation support to Kalgoorlie available within Australia), or FIFO from Perth. Backed by a long mine life, continued investment in growth, and genuine career development opportunities, this is a role where you'll be able to broaden your technical capability, contribute to key operational decisions, and see the impact of your work every day.

You'll:
n

Help keep our people safe underground by monitoring ground conditions, assessing geotechnical risks,



and recommending practical controls.
n
Influence mine performance through geotechnical analysis, excavation design reviews, and the ongoing optimisation of underground mining activities.
n
Support the management and continuous improvement of our Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP) and Seismic Hazard Management Plan (SHMP).
n
Provide technical guidance on paste backfill performance, quality assurance, risk management, and backfill design parameters.
n
Collect, analyse and communicate geotechnical monitoring data to support informed operational and strategic decision-making.
n
Contribute to mine planning by identifying opportunities, constraints and geotechnical considerations that support the safe and efficient extraction of ore.

Does this sound like you?
n
n
Degree-qualified in Mining, Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
n
Minimum three years' practical geotechnical experience within an underground mining environment.
n
Robust understanding of underground ground control systems, geotechnical monitoring, excavation design, and risk management.
n
Working knowledge of Western Australian mining legislation and associated statutory requirements.
n
Experience with geotechnical data collection, analysis, reporting, and QAQC processes.
n
Familiarity with mine design and planning software such as Leapfrog and/or Deswik is highly regarded.
n
Exposure to geotechnical and seismic analysis tools including IMS Synapse, Trace and Vantage, Map3D, Phase2, Dips, and Unwedge will be advantageous.
n
Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across technical and operational teams.
n
Current C Class Driver's Licence.
