About the Company

Our client, a well-established Local Council in Sydney's North Shore, is seeking a Governance Coordinator to join their team on a 8-week contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced governance professional with solid GIPA experience to support a busy Council governance function and work across a range of high-profile governance matters.

About the Position
n
Temporary 8-week opportunity. As a Governance Coordinator, you will report to the Head of Governance and work autonomously to coordinate and support robust governance frameworks, policies, systems and processes. This is a hands-on, mid-senior level role suited to someone with strong Council governance experience, particularly across GIPA, privacy and legislative compliance. Must be available full-time in the office.

Duties
n

Manage and coordinate GIPA applications
n
Develop and monitor governance policies, codes and procedures
n




Provide independent probity reviews of procurement processes
n
Manage internal and external investigations and complaints
n
Coordinate external investigators and oversee investigation outcomes
n
Support Council-wide legislative compliance and governance frameworks
n
n
Skills & Experience
n
n
Previous Local Council experience and/or experience using InfoCouncil - highly regarded
n
Demonstrated experience managing GIPA applications and a strong understanding of GIPA legislation
n
Experience in research and development of policies relating to Corporate Governance
n
High level of maturity and strong communication skills
n
n
