PURPOSE
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is SwarmFarm's senior financial leader and is accountable for the financial stewardship, performance and capability of the company.
The CFO owns the Finance function and leads the Head of Finance and Finance team, ensuring SwarmFarm has the financial discipline, forward visibility, controls and decision support required to scale sustainably.
This is not primarily an accounting role.
The CFO translates financial information into business decisions, ensures capital is deployed effectively, challenges the business on performance and provides the Executive Team and Board with a clear view of current performance, future outlook, risks and opportunities.
The CFO partners closely with the CCO, CEO, CPO, COO and functional leaders and is expected to combine strategic financial leadership with strong commercial judgement and execution.
EXPERIENCE
CFO leadership experience within a scaling, manufacturing, technology or capital-intensive business.
Demonstrated responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, treasury and financial reporting.
Experience presenting to Boards and senior investors.
Experience managing audit, tax, compliance and financial controls.
Demonstrated commercial finance capability.
Experience leading and developing senior Finance professionals.
Experience supporting fundraising, debt or other capital transactions highly regarded.
Exposure to international operations, manufacturing, inventory and R&D; environments
QUALIFICATIONS
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent.
CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership & Strategy
Own SwarmFarm's financial strategy and financial operating model.
Provide the Executive Team and Board with clear insight into financial performance, outlook, risks and opportunities.
Lead long-range financial planning and scenario modelling.
Translate company strategy into financial plans, targets and resource-allocation decisions.




Provide independent financial challenge and commercial judgement to major decisions.
Ensure investment decisions are supported by appropriate financial analysis and Partner with leaders to improve financial literacy and accountability across the organisation.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Own the annual budget, rolling forecast and longer-term financial model.
Establish clear revenue, gross-margin, OPEX, cash and working-capital performance measures.
Analyse actual performance against plan and ensure material variances have clear explanations and actions.
Develop scenario analysis to support growth, investment and cost decisions.
Ensure financial forecasts are credible, current and linked to operational drivers.
Maintain clear visibility of cash runway and future funding requirements.
Cash, Treasury & Capital Management
Own cash-flow management, treasury and working capital.
Maintain appropriate minimum-cash and liquidity thresholds.
Optimise capital allocation across Product, Sales, Manufacturing, Operations and corporate functions.
Manage banking relationships, facilities, equipment finance and treasury arrangements.
Lead financial modelling and diligence associated with equity, debt or other capital transactions.
Partner with the CCO and CEO on capital strategy and fundraising.
Maintain high-quality financial information for investors and shareholders.
Commercial Finance & Business Performance
Partner with functional leaders to understand the economics of their operations.
Support pricing, gross-margin, unit-economics and return-on-investment analysis.
Establish financial visibility across products, customers, markets and major programs.
Challenge assumptions and ensure commercial decisions are supported by robust data.
Partner with Sales and Operations on revenue forecasting and delivery economics.
Partner with Product on investment prioritisation and R&D; financial planning.
Partner with Manufacturing on inventory, cost of goods, production economics and working capital.
Support international expansion decisions with appropriate financial modelling and controls.
Financial Reporting & Board Reporting
Own the integrity and quality of SwarmFarm's financial reporting.
Ensure timely monthly management reporting.
Provide concise financial commentary focused on performance, drivers,



risks and actions.
Lead preparation of financial content for Board reporting.
Ensure the Board has appropriate visibility of cash, forecast, revenue, margin, OPEX, capital and major financial risks.
Ensure reporting evolves with the scale and complexity of the company.
Financial Control, Tax & Compliance
Own SwarmFarm's financial-control environment.
Ensure financial statements comply with applicable accounting standards.
Oversee statutory reporting, taxation and regulatory financial obligations.
Own the relationship with external auditors and tax advisers.
Maintain appropriate financial delegations, approvals and segregation of duties.
Ensure balance-sheet integrity and appropriate reconciliation standards.
Maintain audit-ready records and processes.
Ensure appropriate controls over inventory, fixed assets, procurement and expenditure.
Finance Systems & Data
Own the finance-systems strategy.
Ensure financial systems provide reliable and timely information.
Establish clear financial sources of truth.
Improve automation and reduce unnecessary manual financial processes.
Ensure integration between Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, Inventory, Payroll and other key systems.
Partner with BizOps and functional system owners on improvements to data and reporting.
Finance Team Leadership
Lead and develop the Head of Finance.
Set clear priorities, outcomes and performance measures for the Finance function.
Ensure the Finance team has the capability and capacity required as the business scales.
Build succession and reduce key-person dependency.
Create a Finance function recognised internally for accuracy, responsiveness and commercial value.
Maintain clear separation between strategic financial leadership and day-to-day finance operations.
