Job Description
We are looking for an energetic and personable Finance Officer to join our Sydney team.
We are a collaborative, award-winning Architecture and Interior Design practice located in the historic Jones Bay Wharf building, overlooking Sydney Harbour.
This is a hands‐on role with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the practice's finance function.
The Role
This is a diverse role within a creative studio environment, working closely with the Directors and wider team.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the practice's financial operations, with responsibilities including:
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Project billing, invoicing and debt collection
Payroll management
Bank reconciliations
Month-end processes and financial reporting
BAS and tax compliance
Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
Project financial tracking and cost rates
Financial recordkeeping and controls
Ad-hoc financial and administrative support
Skills & Experience




5+ years' experience in finance, accounting or a similar role
Experience managing payroll, preferably using Xero
Experience with BAS, month-end processes and financial reporting
Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Solid written and verbal communication skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Initiative and a proactive, can-do approach
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
Personable and confident working with a range of stakeholders
On site role no remote work
