We are seeking an experienced Mining Operational Excellence / Transformation Consultant to support the implementation of a major mining optimisation program.
n
This is a hands-on opportunity for a consultant who can move beyond strategy and work directly with mine leadership, supervisors and frontline teams to embed practical operating systems, improve readiness and deliver sustainable operational performance.

About the Role
n
The Optimisation Plan focuses on five key improvement areas:
n

R1 – Rate to Standard
n
R2 – Panel & Sequence Readiness
n
R3 – Equipment Readiness
n
R4 – Workforce Readiness
n
R5 – Outbye & Critical Infrastructure Readiness
n
n
Your role will be to help turn the approved plan into day-to-day operational discipline, measurable improvements and sustainable capability.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
You will:
n
n
Develop and implement a 90-day mobilisation plan and 12-month roadmap.
n
Establish practical planning and operating routines across annual, quarterly, four-week, seven-day and shift planning.
n
Support implementation of the R1–R5 improvement initiatives.
n
Develop transparent operating standards, readiness criteria, KPIs and visual performance measures.
n
Identify root causes of recurring operational losses and facilitate structured problem solving.
n
Coach mine leaders and supervisors to embed improved ways of working.
n
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Workforce and Infrastructure teams.
n
Establish performance and benefits tracking to demonstrate measurable operational improvements.
n




Build internal capability and ensure the operating system can be sustained by CVC leadership.
n

About You
n
We are looking for a hands-on operational transformation professional with experience in:
n
n
Underground mining or similarly complex operational environments.
n
Operational excellence and operating-system implementation.
n
Frontline planning, execution and performance improvement.
n
Equipment, asset and workforce readiness.
n
Continuous improvement and structured problem solving.
n
Leadership coaching and behavioural change.
n
Translating strategy into practical operational outcomes.
n
Benefits tracking and sustainable performance improvement.
n
n
You will be someone who is comfortable working in the field, engaging with frontline teams and turning complex improvement strategies into simple, practical actions.

Initial duration: 9 months
n
Mobilisation: First 8–12 weeks
n
The engagement will initially focus on mobilisation and implementation, followed by embedding, coaching, problem solving and capability transfer.
