Parallax Accounting Pty Ltd is seeking a Taxation Accountant to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to develop your taxation expertise within a dynamic and growing accounting practice. As a Taxation Accountant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality tax advisory and compliance services to our diverse client base. This position is integral to supporting our clients' financial success whilst contributing to the strategic objectives of our organisation.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Preparing and lodging tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts, ensuring compliance with all relevant taxation legislation
n
Conducting tax planning and advisory services to optimise clients' tax positions and minimise tax liabilities
n
Reviewing financial records and documentation to identify tax deductions, credits and other tax-saving opportunities
n
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of taxation legislation, rulings and case law to provide current and accurate advice
n
Managing relationships with clients and addressing taxation enquiries and questions in a timely and professional manner
n
Liaising with tax authorities, including the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), to resolve tax issues and comply with audit requirements
n
Assisting with business structuring advice to ensure clients utilise the most tax-efficient structure for their circumstances
n
Preparing taxation documentation and working papers to support tax returns and advice provided
n
Contributing to the development and implementation of taxation processes and procedures within the practice
n

What we're looking for
n
n
A recognised accounting qualification such as a Bachelor of Commerce, Diploma of Accounting or equivalent
n
Skilled membership or eligibility with CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) or Institute of Public Accountants (IPA)
n




Demonstrated experience in taxation compliance and advisory, ideally within an accounting practice or corporate tax department
n
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law, including income tax, GST, payroll tax and superannuation legislation
n
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple client files and meet tight deadlines
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex tax issues
n
Professional communication skills with the ability to explain taxation concepts clearly to clients with varying levels of financial knowledge
n
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with taxation changes
n
A proactive approach to client service and a willingness to contribute as part of a collaborative team
n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Xero and other accounting systems
n
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
n
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines under pressure
n
Confidence to work collaboratively and autonomously
