HiTalent Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Domestic Violence Support Worker to support people accessing homelessness and housing services. This role will provide practical, trauma-informed support to clients at the service site, assist with client intake and assessment, and help ensure the safe and effective daily operation of the accommodation service. This position is classified at SCHADS Award Level 3.

This is a meaningful role suited to support workers who are calm, capable and experienced in working with people experiencing homelessness, trauma, crisis and complex needs.

About the Role
n
As a Domestic Violence Support Worker, you will provide client-centred support and work closely with case management teams, including:
n
n
Supporting clients in line with their individual case plans
n
Assisting with current client entry, assessment and orientation
n
Providing practical support and information across a range of client needs
n
Maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-run accommodation environment
n
Supporting clients through crisis, transition and stabilisation
n
Maintaining clear records and case notes in line with service policy
n
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide trauma-informed, client-centred support consistent with the Client Service Delivery Model
n
Work collaboratively with case workers to support clients in implementing their case plans
n
Maintain accurate electronic and handwritten client records,



daily notes and documentation
n
Assist with client intake, assessment, orientation and ongoing site-based support
n
Liaise with internal staff and external agencies to ensure client needs are responded to effectively
n
Advocate for clients to reduce barriers and improve access to appropriate services
n
Conduct regular unit and room inspections
n
Serve meals and supervise client and volunteer kitchen activities as required
n
Respond appropriately to crisis and emergency situations
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
A relevant Certificate qualification, equivalent experience, or current tertiary study in a related field
n
Demonstrated experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, trauma, crisis or complex needs
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
Strong customer service skills and the ability to build respectful client relationships
n
Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm in crisis and emergency situations
n
The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
n
A trauma-informed, ethical and non-judgmental approach
n
Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
n

Requirements

Current, valid driver licence (essential)
n
Current First Aid Certificate
n
Availability to work a rotating roster including day, afternoon and sleepover shifts
n
Ability to maintain professional client records and case notes
